High Quality care and education improves child outcomes. High quality early learning environments cannot be achieved without a quality workforce.

The 0to5 CECCl co-sponsors training for childcare workers, preschool staff, and kindergarten staff. We collaborate and advocate with community partners to emphasize the importance of school readiness. Finally, we develop a grant for funds provided to the council by the Kentucky Governor's Office of Early Childhood.

Families

All parents have dreams of success for their child. A parent is a child's first and best teacher, and plays a major role in giving their child the greatest opportunity to succeed.

The 0to5 CECCl sponsors the "What To Do When You,re 2" program ( for children ages birth through 2).Those registered receive free, age appropriate books monthly by attending our free, featured event, information about community activities for infants and toddlers, school readiness information and learning opportunities for parents. We communicate to parents about state funded preschool programs and upcoming screening dates as children age out of the program.

We provide information to help parents/guardians/caregivers be knowledgeable about developmental experiences that promote health and wellness, emotional and social skills, language, math and other cognitive skills.

Finally, we participate in community events to reach more parents of infants and toddlers who are not being served by a public or private licensed child care program.

Community

Mobilizing communities to identify local needs of children and families ensures the best early care and education for Kentucky's youngest citizens.

The 0to5 CECC collaborates and advocates with community partners to emphasize the importance of school readiness. We distribute the Early Childhood Profiles to partners to bring awareness of our local community's statistics on kindergarten readiness each year.

We participate in community events to reach more parents of infants and toddlers who are not being served by a public or private licensed child care program.
